The Skilled Life
1. If you want to do, or were forced to do a trade, which one would it be and why?
If I want to do, or was forced to do a trade, I would choose being a florist, a person who arranges and sells floral decorations. This is because I am an organized, creative, and sometimes artistic person. I enjoy putting things together with other decorations to form something beautiful. Also, Florists belong to the broad trade of artisans and crafts person. Eventhough florists need manuel skills and training with the equipments to do their job, I believe I will be able to do that as well. Being a florist is simple, but a florist has a high wage due to the high demand for bouquets, corsages, sprays, and wreaths all seasons.

Tomorrow's Hottest Jobs
a) Are any of the jobs mentioned in the article of interest to you? why?
Being a pharmacist is mentioned in the article that is of interest to me. This is because of the high income a pharmacist receives and the clean environment a pharmacist work in. Also, pharmacists are already in short supply, therefore the need for pharmacists have increased. I would like to be a pharmacist because of the help I provide to the community through the advices and medicine I give to my clients.
b) How is the employment boom mentioned in the article good for you?
The employment boom mentioned in the article is good for me because more jobs are available in the community I live in. I will be able to get a job easily if more jobs are available. This increase in employment will raise the money of the government as well and improves the environment and facilities in public places. For example, community centres, libraries, swimming pools, shopping malls, and many other public buildings. These improvements will benefit the citizens in different ways. The government will also grow stonger and more prosperous.
How could this "boom" be a bad thing?
This "boom" could be a bad thing because many people are retiring and companies will not be able to find new employees to work in a short amount of time. The company representatives will think that there won't be enough younger people with the skills to take the available jobs. These companies will raise the pay for their employees to attract people with more experience to the job. If these companies still don't have enough employees, the products or services the company provide will not be as good as before. The company standards will drop drastically.

Secrets of Grade A students
1. List all the "secrets" of academic success you can find this selection.
There are a lot of "secrets" of academic success in this selection. Firstly, support from family and friends is one of the "secrets". Children will feel they live in a supportive environment when parents attend school events to be supportive for a child's victories. Also, parents have to act as good role models for their children and encourage them to ask questions. The punishments parents give should not be severe, so the children will not be afraid of their parents. Secondly, students who put forth a lot of hard work, have fun learning, learn from their mistakes, take criticisms well, set goals, do their best, take risks and are not afraid to explore with critical analysis have an advantage over other kids. These students have a passion for learning. They should be involved in sports and in extracurricular activities to maintain a good health. Thirdly, students have to enjoy being active and persistent. Furthermore, a broad fund of knowledge is required to be successful academically. Students might find incorporating learning into everyday life easy. Gaining more experiences in the world through exploration will extend the students' knowledge. Lastly, students who do not skip class and wants to know how to get better set goal to improve themselves in various ways. Being confident, competitive, organized and focused are all "secrets" of academic success.

The academic goals I have set out for myself contain and reflect the "secrets" of academic success mentioned in this selection because my goals are organized and well planned. I try to get involved in sports teams, clubs or organizations, and community activities. Also, I try to maintain high academic standards. I enjoy learning through experiences or explorations. I would like to expand my knowlege, so I will have more topics to talk about with other people. I am hardworking and I try my best. I learn better from my mistakes and I have a passion for learning. However, sometimes I do not take critisisms that well. Therefore, I have to work on that area of my personality. Furthermore, I have a very shy personality, so I have to train myself to be more confident.

My career goals include graduating high school, graduating university, getting a masters degree, getting a doctor's degree, and giving back to the community I lived in. I would like to be a doctor because I would like to help people. I plan to receive a good education in order to be successful in the future. I wish to have a high income so I will earn enough to support my family and maybe my friends. I will also be supportive towards environmental organizations and activities. My career goals may not be achieved the way I imagine them now because my interest might change.
2. If you don't have a specific career goal, what type of occupations interest you?
Being a lawyer, a doctor, a pharmacists, a dietitians, or a nutritionist interest me if I don't have a specific career goal. Most jobs related to health or medicines are appealing to me because I think giving back to the community through my job is important.
3. Did you discover any new occupations to consider by doing these quizzes? Which ones?
I discovered a number of different occupations to consider by doing the quizzes. For example, I learned that my personality and skills match with being a therapist, which is the reason why I would consider being a therapist. I need to know my patient's pyschology and I need to be courteuos to your client. Also, I might consider being an Insurance agent because I am interested in laws. Being an Insurance agent, I need computer skills and knowlege on Insurance products like new vechicle productions and road side plus packages. I would like to acquire a professional insurance destination. I feel that being an Insurance agent will improve my communication with people and my knowlege in motor vechicles. I will advice the costumers and protect their investments.

Personality Tests Article- Blog #3
1. As if school tests were not enough, once you get out into the real world chances are you will be subjected to a test to get a job. What is your opinion of this practice by employers? Is it reasonable, fair, scary...?
In my opinion, to take a test to get a job is not reasonable and unfair. This is because the personality tests might not be accurate. Therefore, the result of the personality test might not show in the employee's performance at work. If a person looses a job due to a mistake on a test, I think it is unfair. Also, overtime everyone will find out the correct answers to the personality test through friends and do very well on the test. The people can do research on the personality tests and score very high on it, but doing more research does not mean the job they apply for is the right one. However, I also personally believe that a test cannot be scary because students are familiar with tests they take in their school years. These personality tests will allow people to learn more about themselves in various ways, so they know which area they should improve on.
2. Why is it reasonable or perhaps even wise to subject/introduce you to the type of testing you may encounter in the real world?
It is reasonable or perhaps even wise to subject or introduce me to the type of testing I may encounter in the real world because I would know what to expect in the future. I might encounter challenges when I apply for a job or a university. Therefore, I have to learn the type of testings in the real world earlier rather than later to be prepared. I will gain an advantage that way.
3. Even if these tests you have taken sound nothing like how you believe yourself to be, how can they still be useful?
If these tests I have taken sound nothing like how I believe myself to be, they can still be useful when I analyze the answers and find out why I think the results do not suit me. The results might contain something that I do not know about myself and I can use this information to improve. I will use the results of the personality test to learn more about myself to put my strengths into good use. After I learn more about myself, I will have more confidence. In addition, these results of the personality tests can help me determine the appropriate carreer for me.
