Interview Questions

1. How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a positive, patient, honest, hardworking, focused and organized type of person. I try my best at everything and do not give up easily.
2. What specific goals, have you established for your life?

I would like to get honours of distinction, maintain high academic standards, perfect punctuality, become more professional, and more confident.
3. Please describe the ideal job for you following graduation.

The ideal job upon my graduation would be becoming a full-time professional tennis coach because I work in a clean environment and I have the opportunity to train professional student athletes to become professional tennis players.
4. How do you determine or evaluate success? Give me an example of one of your successful accomplishments.
In my opinion, success is when what you are doing is appreciated and supported by others as well as being morally correct. An example of my success would be the time I helped out at an arts and craft activity on Canadian Multiculturalism Day.
5. What has been your most rewarding accomplishment?
My most rewarding accomplishment is the time I volunteered at the Scotia Bank Half marathon. This marathon started at 7 o'clock and it was raining really hard. Therefore, I had to wake up early and help out in the pouring rain. During the marathon, many people thanked me for helping out.
6. Are you more energized by working with data or by collaborating with other individuals?
I am more energized by working with data because I am organized and focused.
7. How would you describe yourself in terms of your ability to work as a member of a team?
I would describe myself as the leader in terms of my ability to work as a member of a team. I encourage others to work hard and try their best in things.
8. What motivates you to put forth your greatest effort?
Mostly the difference I make or the help I provide motivates me to put forth my greatest effort.
9. Describe what you've accomplished toward reaching a recent goal for yourself.
I became more healthy because one of my recent goals is to sleep earlier. Having more rest will make me focus better in class and do better in sports.
10. Can you describe your long-range goals and objectives?
I want to learn how to make good coffee from Starbucks and they have different types of coffee like cuppuchino, flappuchino, and ordinary coffee. I would like to gain valuable experience since Starbucks is a store that provides great coffee to people all over the world.
11. What do you see yourself doing in ten years?
I see myself still in a university studying, but out working in ten years.
12. How would you evaluate your ability to deal with conflict?
I am very patient and I have a high level of understanding. When people are unreasonable or irrational, I can cope with their impatience. I can calm the client down first and then listen and understand the complaint. Finally, I will explain things clearly to the customer.
13. Tell me about a major problem you recently handled. Were you successful in resolving it?
I recently attended a tennis tournament, but I could not find the place where the tennis tournament takes place. Luckily, I had my friend's phone number and I phoned to ask for directions. In the end, I was in time for my part in the tournament.
14. Would you say that you can easily deal with high-pressure situations?
Each person has to undergo pressure. I try to calm myself down. I will do sports to forget about work from the day time everyday after school. I will get a good night of sleep and get a fresh start the next day. This way, I can deal with high-pressure situations calmly and smartly.
15. What quality or attribute do you feel will most contribute to your career success?
I feel that being punctual, having the habit of planning, being sincere, being honest, being credible, and being honest will most contribute to your career success.
16. What personal weakness has caused you the greatest difficulty in school or on the job?
The area I have to improve that caused me the greatest difficulty in school or on the job is planning. I have to learn to do things ahead of time, so I will not be late.
17. Describe the characteristics of a successful manager.
A successful manager should always be patient, organized, focused, punctual, relaxed, have a way to settle things, and have good planning.
18. Tell me what you know about our company. (Starbucks, Keg, Aritzia, Earl's, Sport Check, Whole Foods)
Starbucks make great coffee. Starbucks coffee stores are found everywhere. Whenever I go, there must be a Starbucks store somewhere. Many people enjoy coffee from Starbucks. Starbucks provide gift cards and visa cards for customers to obtain.
19. Why did you decide to seek a position in this company?
I decided to seek a position in this company because Starbucks is a successful company. I would like to learn the unique way Starbucks make coffee since the coffee from Starbucks is admired by all. Also, Starbucks provide very good customer service and the staff members are very well trained.
20. Which is more important to you, the job itself or your salary?
My job itself and my salary are both important to me because of the training I receive from Starbucks. Also, I need to earn a living. Therefore, my salary is very important.
21. Describe the most significant or creative presentation that you have had to complete.
The most significant or creative presentation that I have had to complete was using power point. Using the animation and special effects, I made the presentation a lot more interesting.
22. Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty in order to get a job done.

I was the computer assistant for a summer camp. At the begining of the computer camp, I had to arrive at the computer room an hour early to clean the mouses, screens, and keyboards of the computers. Furthermore, I had to shut all the computers down properly each day after the computer camp was over.
23. Give an example of how you applied knowledge from previous coursework to a project in another class.
I used many computer skills I learned from a computer camp to a project in another class. Through power point, I made the presentation. I used exel to make tables or graphs for the project. Also, I used animation on power point to make the presentation more interesting to watch.
24. Describe a situation where others you were working with on a project disagreed with your ideas. What did you do?
I try to reconcile with them by resolving our conflicts. However, if I know I am one hundred percent right in some perspective, I will stand firm on my idea. Then I will try to explain to them to make them understand.
25. What are your standards of success in school? What have you done to meet these standards?

My standards of success in school includes respect for the teachers, good marks in school, participate in sports activities and provide services back to the school. I have attended all classes, concentrated in class, joined the tennis team, and joined many school clubs to give back to the school board.
